kourier > [Event Coverage] Block B Showcase in Singapore!
Day 2 saw Block B at St. James Powerhouse for their “Do You Wanna Be Block B” showcase, and the place was packed with fans who came prepared with placards, their screaming voices and some lucky fans who got to show off their dance moves. Block B emerged in their all-black ensemble and kicked it off with Halo, leaving the crowd in a frenzy. Whenever not performing though, the members’ cheeky personalities were evident as exemplified by Jaehyo’s shirt-lifting pose and Kyung’s butt-to-crowd moment during their individual introductions. More fun moments ensued when 7 lucky girls were chosen to team up with each of the members for a dance-off, and in the sea of sexy and powerful dances, Taeil’s aegyo-filled dance came up tops. Kudos!
Interwoven between performances of Wanna B and Tell Them were more chances for fans to get to know Block B better. The Q&A segment revealed little-known bits like the most bullied member (Taeil) and the most talkative member (Jaehyo), and also Zico’s apparent change of heart towards his once beloved stuffed toy, Hello Kitty. Well, if that session got the members talking, the game of charades with fans got Block B doing all kinds of funny imitations (think Marilyn Monroe‘s classic skirt-blown move and Michael Jackson‘s signature poses) that the fans laughed at and cheered for.
December babies, Jaehyo and B-bomb, even had their own special moment when a birthday cake was presented in the midst of a roaring Happy Birthday to You sang in Korean by the crowd. The fans then had their moment as they presented Block B with a fan-made video. Block B kept the mood going by throwing Christmas candies to the crowd before sheepishly “ending” their showcase. Of course, the fans wanted more and they got what they wanted – Block B took the stage again, this time with Black Eyed Peas‘ Let’s Get It Started. The dance moves came out for one last time before the members said their goodbyes to the crowd of fans who, it’s probably safe to say, had a night they’ll never forget with Block B.
We would like to thank Reer Media for this opportunity to cover Block B’s stay in Singapore.
